Over the last 4 years (2015-2019), Canada has let in 1.5 million Permanent residents and according to the Immigration and Diversity: Population Projections for Canada and its Regions, 2011 to 2036, these numbers are expected to surge in the coming years. In the medium-growth scenario, the Canadian population would grow from 37.1 million inhabitants in 2018 to 55.2 million by 2068 – many of whom would be immigrants through the many Canadian immigration programs.
